A new series of paintings and ink drawings by Lisa Dittrich, Enchanted White Girl explores the experiences of a teenaged white girl in Gallup, New Mexico in the early 1980’s. Lisa explores the challenges of being caucasian in a town with a majority population of Hispanic and American Indians. Her family was also not well off enough to be the “rich white people”, so this suite of paintings explores her trying to find her way in not being accepted.
